The Quinta produces unique and passionate wines, exclusive and full of Soul.
Quinta uses two brands to market its Quinta wines. only for red wines produced in exceptional years and at the Reserva and Grande Reserva levels. They translate the maximum exponent of the Quinta and are actually wines that count absolutely, the best that the Douro Superior region produces.
The Quinta’s other brand, ‘Lupucinus’, also produces white and red wines with Quinta grapes, at the Harvest and Reserve levels. These are wines produced every year and that always maintain the profile and quality of the Quinta.
2011 was a private year; to celebrate the extreme quality of ‘Lupucinus’ production, Quinta decided to launch a precious Grande Reserva wine called ‘Lupucinus Grande Reserva 2011’ onto the market. This is a truly unique wine that continues to be sought after and made available to our prestigious customers in very limited quantities. ‘Lupucinus’ designates in its immense fullness the packs of wolves that once inhabited the slopes of the Lubazim valley. ‘When the wolves play in the warm lands of the Alto Douro, they do not lose their wild nobility’.
The red wines have a clean and shiny appearance, violet color and deep intensity. They have deep aromas of fresh rockrose and wild fruit very well integrated, with subtle balsamic notes. In the mouth they become vibrant, showing exceptional texture, composed of silky tannins and aromas of very fresh wild fruits. They are absolutely elegant and harmonious with a long and persistent finish.
These are wines that you should drink or ask to keep for more than 20 years.
They each constitute the beginning of a ‘great journey’.
These wines are produced from Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela and Sousão, Tinta Roriz and very old vineyards through a very significant blend of very old grape varieties.
White wines are very elegant and attractive wines, full of exotic fruit such as star fruit and papaya, with intense nuances of pepper and pear. These aromas continue in the mouth and are accompanied by a juicy, ripe and perfectly balanced acidity.
They are wines produced with the grape varieties Viosinho, Rabigato, Codega de Larinho and Alvarinho.
The Quinta also produces extra virgin olive oil of superior quality.
The production is supported by the preservation of centuries-old olive trees, many with ages close to 800 years, where ancestral varieties and agricultural methods are absolutely preserved.
