Details

The drive north on the Okanagan Highway out of Osoyoos is remarkably picturesque. With the spectacular Mount Kobau towering to the left, the land along the highway is dotted with an assortment of orchards, vineyards, and fruit stands. On Road 18, a right turn leads onto a rustic country road. The occasional tractor rumbles by. After a short distance east, Road 18 leads to the Ryegrass Road Bridge, crossing overtop of the gentle flowing Vaseaux Creek. The creek marks the entry to Oliver’s highly sought after Black Sage Bench. Home to esteemed wineries Burrowing Owl Estate, Black Hills Estate, Phantom Creek Estate, Desert Hills Estate, and Church and State Wines, the Black Sage Bench emerges as a highly sought-after viticultural terroir of unparalleled quality.

Double Barrel Vineyards offers the opportunity to own 42 acres of prime, producing, Black Sage Bench vineyard land. With 39 acres planted between 2008 and 2021, a two bedroom manufactured home, four wind machines, a machine harvester, and a water license for just over 26 million gallons, this vineyard farm comes with everything needed to immediately begin producing quality grapes. The vineyard is planted with 17.4 acres of Pinot Gris, 5.7 acres of Riesling, 5.6 acres of Cabernet Franc, 5.5 acres of Chardonnay, 3.5 acres of Gewürztraminer, 0.8 acres of Viognier, and 0.5 acres of Pinot Noir. The vineyard’s typical yield is five tonnes per acre. Double Barrel Vineyards uses drip irrigation with water drawn from the adjacent Vaseaux Creek river.
