The Matakana region is one hour north of New Zealand largest city, Auckland. Wine making is a strong local industry that combined with great beaches, parks, village markets and restaruants makes this a great place to live.
The Vineyard enjoys a beautiful full sun aspect, 50 acres in size with 14 acres of mature vines, the balance in pasture, wetlands and native forest. This vineyard is set up for easy maintenance of high quality grapes. The main varieties are Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot.
The wine making methodology is traditional european with hand picking and natural winemaking. Production is about 2500 cases per year with potential to double this with further planting.
The winery is new and fully equiped.
Included is a two bedroom cottage with attached garages and workshop.
Part of the winery includes a cafe/wine tasting/function room, this has been closed during construction of the winery and is shown as the main building in the attached photos. This is an impressive building that has won architectual awards.
Plant and equipment are included in the price, the purchase of wine stock is by negotiation. |
