| France has many very famous wine grape growing regions which include, Champagne, Alsace, The Loire, Burgundy, Cognac, Bordeaux, The Rhone, Armagnac, Provence and Languedoc-Roussillon. Within these regions France produces some of the world's finest wines. France's climate and geography is thought to be divided into three parts. The northern region of the country which includes Champagne and Burgundy have very cold and rainy winters. The southern region of the country has the Mediterranean climate which makes growing grapes very easy. The Atlantic region is the third area in which Bordeaux and Loire are home. The climate here is very maritime and at times the humidity can present problems but Bordeaux's humid summers make some of the sweet wine Sauternes possible. |
