Prairie Berry Winery has built its direct-to-consumer model to generate in excess of $8 million in sales annually with 45,000 cases sold and almost 200,000 visitors. Having served about 2 million visitors from around the world, Prairie Berry Winery is on the springboard to national distribution.
Founded in 1999, Prairie Berry winery is one of the most successful wineries in the Midwest; producing a variety of award-winning wines, including the widely acclaimed wine, Red Ass Rhubarb. Prairie Berry is located in Hill City, South Dakota, the heart of the Black Hills. It is in close proximity to the Mt. Rushmore Memorial, Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park, two national parks, Deadwood and Rapid City. The Prairie Berry’s 21-acre estate includes a 30,000 square-foot winery, tasting room and restaurant, a 3,500 square-foot brewery (Miner Brewing Company), an 8,800 square-foot General Store with a commercial kitchen for Prairie Berry Made packaged food products, a 750-person concert lawn, campground and vacation rentals.

More than 85% of sales are direct to consumers and retailers. Winery direct-to-consumer sales are via Prairie Berry’s tasting room in Hill City, South Dakota, its wine club (subscription), and shipping orders (webstore and phone). Miner Brewing Co. beer is sold in-person through the Company’s taproom. Prairie Berry has licenses to ship straight to consumers in more than 35 states plus the District of Columbia. Prairie Berry sells wine directly to liquor and grocery stores throughout South Dakota and via distributors in the surrounding states of North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska and Iowa.

Financing: Existing favorable bank financing is assumable at interest rates of 4 to 5%.
