|Ribbon Cliff Vineyard was named after a major rock slide as a result of the most intense earthquake to ever hit Washington State. The earthquake took place December 14th, 1872 and was rated at nearly 7.3 on the Richter Scale.
Debris from the slide was reported to have blocked the flow of the Columbia River creating a lake behind a rock damn. Ribbon Cliff vineyard is located on the Columbia River halfway between Wenatchee and Lake Chelan near the town of Orondo. The hot temperatures along with the cool breezes off the river create a perfect climate for growing red grapes. We grow four varietals, Malbec, Cab Franc, Sangiovese and Barbara.
We are located on 64 B VanWinkle Rd Orondo, WA 98843, just a few minutes away from the beautiful and historic Lake Chelan! Our vineyard is 11 acres of land with grapevines with a beautiful view of the Columbia River.
